Mary Beth Krapil

Mary Beth has been an avid sewer since childhood, teaching quilting classes since 1998. Her goal is to share her knowledge and passion for quilting. She loves teaching the basics to new quilters and also enjoys introducing new techniques and ideas to experienced quilters.

Traveling worldwide, Mary Beth teaches longarm quilting at major shows both in the US and at international venues. She conducts events at numerous retail shops, longarm clubs, and guilds. She has appeared on Quilt It, The Longarm Quilting Show on QNNtv. An expert on the Pro-Stitcher®, Mary Beth is a certified Art and Stitch instructor. (Check out her chapter in the Art and Stitch Special Techniques guide). Sharing the joys of computerized quilting and digitizing with quilt makers of all skill levels, Mary Beth makes it fun and easy for anyone to learn.

She started longarm quilting on a non-stitch regulated HQ 16 in 2004, then moved to an HQ Avante® with Pro-Stitcher® and now quilts on an HQ Infinity® with Pro-Stitcher® and also on her HQ Sweet Sixteen® sit-down machine. She loves to add ruler work and free motion design to enhance Pro-Stitcher quilting. Mary Beth does her piecing with theHQ Stitch 510TM machine. Her quilts have won awards at many major shows. Several of her quilts have been published in national magazines and books.

Mary Beth lives in a small town in North Carolina with her husband. They enjoy being close to their grandchildren and two sons, gardening and cooking.

This class moves beginners from overview to quilting applications.
This class of quilting applications addresses specific functions and basic techniques a
quilter will use on a regular basis to finish quilts with the HQ Pro-Stitcher. Tips and shortcuts for using features of the
program are included.

• The many ways to describe an Area on your quilt
• Using Skew 1 vs Skew 2

After you’ve mastered dropping block designs and quilting edge to edge with the HQ Pro-Stitcher, you’re now ready to expand and strengthen your skills. This class focuses on in-depth aspects of specific functions of the HQ Pro-Stitcher.

Learn how to create continuous border and corner designs; easily digitize your own designs using the features under the Record menu; and quilt on-point designs and areas larger than the throat-space of your machine.
