This is a simple cut and sew technique used to create the background for the pictured quilt. This example uses the mosaic to be the foliage background for some poppies that have been fussy cut. If the mosaic had been done with greys, whites, creams it could be the background for a winter forest with green pines and cardinals. You get the idea. Supply list to be provided when you sign up. This would make a great Christmas gift.

Deloa Jones Feb 15 Basics for Beginners
- Feb 15, 2019 09:00 am

This class is filled with all the things I wish I knew when I started. These tips and tricks will help you to get started in your quilting career without all the woes of the beginner. We'll start with my easy loading instructions, then talk about thread tensions and battings. I will show you how to deal with some problem quilts and how to use rulers and pantographs. We will then quilt some easy free motion designs that you can use on your quilts right away. You will learn several background allovers, continuous curve and some border designs.

DeLoa will be demonstrating rulers that she has developed recently. She will share all the fun. She will show you how to use rulers and the trick for holding them and lining them up correctly. Along with the straight edge tools, she will also demonstrate how to use the boomerangs for curved cross hatching. The circle busters and heart rulers allow you to make perfect circles and hearts without crossing your hands and then add free motion for more design opportunities. The Rope-a-Dope rulers make great rope designs with a corner trick that makes it perfect each time. It also all started with the appliguide which I will show you how to use to go around your appliques smoothly. Along with instruction, there will be samples and many designs that go beyond the basic use of the rulers. DeLoa's rulers are available for sale at this class. A 10% discount will be given for purchases after this class.
