We are working with HandiQuilter ProStitcher Computer System and Art & Stitch digitizing software. We review the features of ProStitcher to best layout your quilting patterns. With Art and Stitch you can digitizing your own designs and make them special for your own quilts. You can also edit existing designs and customize them. Bring your laptop with the software loaded.

Trunk Show April 25 with Harriett Carpanini Come join us on Thursday evening from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Harriett will bring quilts to show us and talk about. She asks you to bring any quilts that you have that you would like to discuss possible quilting designs. Harriett will also have a general question and answer session. No charge for this session

These three Bs are the basic components or many pieced quilt tops and there are tricks to quilting them with a cohesive overall look, while creating your own personal style. Learn how to select and adapt designs to complement each area, and how to accomplish the quilting efficiently and easily. Tried and true fillers and ?go-to? designs will be featured. Harriet will make particular use of the Pam Clark stencils to assist in developing these designs. This is a hand-on class. Topics will include: 1. Using basic reference stencils to assist in creating background fills, borders and blocks. 2. Adapt block designs for borders and sashings. 3. How to handle quilting spaces wider than the frame 4. Creating a step-by-step for custom quilting you quilt.

HQ Event Quilting Beyond the Design

Begin with a basic design from a stencil, a ruler, an applique, a fabric print, a cookie cutter or a shape you draw yourself. Then learn to transform that design from basic to spectacular by extending, expanding and adding secondary design, repeats, fills and special effects. Learn marking techniques and tools for applying designs to quilt tops. Harriett will introduce the Cindy Needham Ultimate Stencils, as a new approach to registration lines to create designs. She will bring ?orphan block? to get y you started. This is a hand-on class with guidance from the expert. Topics to include: ? How to mark and use stencils as design foundations ? How to transfer doodles from paper to quilting ? Enhance a design with fillers and embellishments ? Use marked grids as a design foundation and road map ? Draw inspiration from fabric prints
